Atar Capital invests in both performing and underperforming lower middle market businesses that exhibit potential for revitalization, operational performance improvement, and growth. Cyrus Nikou

Founder and Managing Partner

Cyrus Nikou founded Atar Capital after working 12 years as a serial entrepreneur in the private equity and debt markets.

Cyrus oversees all aspects of the firm’s strategy, including M&A, operations, business and corporate development, and overall management of the firm. He is actively involved with every aspect of the transaction life cycle, and plays an active role with all of Atar Capital’s investments.

Prior to founding Atar Capital, Cyrus co-founded and was a Managing Partner at the Revolution Capital Group, a lower middle market buyout investment firm based in Los Angeles, where he was responsible for executing and overseeing all of the firm’s transactions, as well as managing the financing and legal operations of the business.

Cyrus holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Corporate Finance from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business.

Robert Lezec

Senior Managing Director

Robert Lezec is a seasoned private equity executive with a strong track record of buy-out investing, as well as conceiving and executing successful performance improvement programs across a wide range of industries on a global basis. His unique combination of international M&A and operational expertise lends itself to creating optimum value within Atar’s portfolio of acquired companies.

At Atar Capital, Robert contributes his expertise to the firm's entire investment life cycle, evaluating new investment opportunities, supporting the execution of all acquisitions and divestitures overseeing all post-closing activities, from 100-day transition plans to long term portfolio company management, working closely with all company executives to drive short and long term transformational initiatives.

Prior to Atar Capital, Robert was one of the founding partners of OpenGate Capital, where he was responsible for the firm’s operations on a global basis. During his tenure at OpenGate Capital, he participated in the execution of over 40 cross-border transactions, and oversaw a portfolio of 15 companies with a combined revenue of $3 Billion located throughout North America, Latin America and Europe.

Previously, Robert served in a variety of senior positions with Platinum Equity’s M&A and operations teams in Europe, and in management consulting working with KPMG in the United Kingdom and with Booz Allen & Hamilton in the USA. He also held various operating roles working with Schlumberger, Thermo Electron, and Charles Stark Draper Laboratories. He was also president and CEO of Indiqu, and early-stage pioneer in mobile entertainment and gaming, which was sold to Hands-on Mobile in 2001.

Robert earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his MBA from INSEAD in France.

Stanley Huang

Managing Director

At Atar Capital, Stanley Huang focuses primarily on evaluating new investment opportunities, performing due diligence and providing financial, and operational oversight for Atar’s portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Atar, Stanley was the CFO of Revolution Capital Group, where he was responsible for overseeing the FP&A functions for portfolio companies and providing operational oversight. Stanley served as the Senior Director of Finance at Murad where he was responsible for enterprise-wide analytics, reporting and budgeting. He also served as Vice-President of Strategic Planning for Goldline International, where he was responsible for managing day-to-day cash flow forecasts, evaluating new businesses opportunities, and working on strategic corporate initiatives.

Stanley also spent 11 years advising both financial and strategic buyers on their financial and operational due diligence and has spent time with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC), McGladrey, and Duff & Phelps, advising on projects involving over $2 billion in transaction value. Stanley also spent time with Platinum Equity where he was responsible for evaluating deals, performing due diligence, and working with lenders, both domestically, and internationally.

Stanley holds a B.S. in Economics from The University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School, and is a licensed CPA in the State of California.

Vijay K Mony

Managing Director

Vijay Mony is a Managing Director working out of Atar Capital’s Los Angeles office, where he provides transaction life cycle support including transaction execution, due diligence, and transition oversight for the firm's newly acquired companies. Post-acquisition, Vijay partners with management teams to define and drive them to their "Full Potential".

Prior to Atar, Vijay held senior M&A and Operations positions with OpenGate Capital, Cerberus Capital Management and Alvarez & Marsal. Vijay was also a management consultant with Accenture-Strategy; and started his career at Ford Motor Company where he served in a variety of operating roles in supplier quality, lean manufacturing and global purchasing.

Vijay holds a B.A. from Michigan State University and is a trained Six Sigma Black Belt. Vijay has published and spoken at various conference events around topics such as M&A integration, and harnessing environmental sustainability as a competitive advantage.

T.J. McCaffrey


T.J. McCaffrey serves as a Director at Atar Capital, where he focuses primarily on Atar's origination and business development efforts. Prior to joining Atar Capital, T.J. served as an Associate at Goldman Sachs & Co., where he focused on business development within their Investment Management division.

T.J. also served as the Co-Founder/Head of Business Development for Butter, LLC, a software development company that focuses on creating innovative web and mobile applications. Additionally, he served as Vice President of Business Development & Strategy for Homage Arts, a creative film and television development company based in Los Angeles.

T.J. graduated Magna Cum Laude from Auburn University, holding a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

Jill Winters

CEO, Pathways


Jill Winters joined Pathways as CEO in 2018.

Jill is an experienced healthcare management executive and held positions of increased responsibility over 20 years at UnitedHealthcare, serving as President of its Medicare and Retirement Central Region as well as Chief Field Executive Officer of its Medicare Solutions Business. She also served as the President of United Healthcare’s Secure Horizons Central Division for five years, and Vice President of Government Programs and Corporate Affairs of the Midwest region.

Trained as an attorney, a key focus of Jill’s career has been legal and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining United Healthcare, she served as General Counsel of GenCare Management Company, and as a compliance attorney at A.G. Edwards & Sons.

Jill holds a B.A. and law degree from Washington University in St. Louis. She also holds a Certificate in International Commercial Arbitration from the American University School of Law.

Jill has received recognition as Most Influential Business Woman by the St. Louis Business Journal.

Anthony DiIenno

President & CEO

Waste, Recycling and Sustainability

Anthony DiIenno is a Senior Advisor to Atar where he focuses on the Waste, Recycling and Sustainability sectors. Anthony is currently president and CEO of Recycling and Waste Solutions (RWS).

Anthony is a 3rd generation recycler with 31 years of recycling and waste experience. Prior to joining RWS in 2012, Anthony held several senior executive positions with Smurfit-Stone, leading operations and sales as Vice President of the Converting Sales and National Accounts groups responsible for $450 million in annual revenue, $150 million in annual waste spend and the marketing of over 1.8 million tons of commodities.

In his role at RWS, Anthony drives the strategic direction of the business to enable RWS to assist national companies in achieving their sustainability goals, by directly managing recycling and waste services in complex and diverse supply chains. Anthony leads a dynamic and experienced team that are responsible for developing and managing end-to-end recycling, waste and sustainability programs for multi-site blue chip customers that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and track growing regulatory demands for greater environmental responsibility across North America.

Anthony is a graduate of Neumann University and is also a Deacon in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Anthony is married with two children and resides in Pennsylvania.

Keyth Pengal

CEO – Frontier Integrity Solutions (FIS)

Energy, Oil & Gas

Keyth Pengal is a Senior Advisor to Atar where he focuses on the expertise in Energy, Oil & Gas, and Media sectors.

Keyth focuses on evaluating the operating needs of Frontier Integrity Solutions and directs continuous improvement opportunities, due diligence and operational oversight of the compan’s advanced business model. Keyth has over 25 years of operational experience in a senior or executive role. At Warner Brothers, Keyth was General Manager of several facilities with volumes up to 8 billion in retail shelf ready product. Keyth also led several technology stack and software developments and implementations. Keyth has served as an advisor across various industries on a project manager basis.

As Vice President of Operations with Goldline International, Keyth led the technology and process improvements necessary to grow the company from $50M in revenue to over $850M in 3 years, and also designed the operational infrastructure required for such rapid growth.

Keyth holds a B.A. in Business Management from Roosevelt University.

Bill Boyer

Senior Vice President - Operations Southcross Energy

Bill Boyer is a Senior Advisor to Atar Capital, where he focuses focused on the Energy, Oil & Gas sectors. Bill currently serves on the Board of Frontier Integrity Solutions, the leader in oil and gas mid-stream pipeline inspection services.

Currently, Bill is also Senior Vice President of Operations for Southcross Energy Partners, L.P., a master limited partnership with assets located in South Texas, Mississippi and Alabama, including two large cryogenic gas processing plants, two natural gas liquids fractionation facilities, and approximately 3,100 miles of pipeline.

At Southcross, Bill is responsible for the operational, financial, environmental and safety performance of Southcross’ pipelines, plants and compressor stations, with staff based in 3 states.

Bill joined Southcross in late 2015, shortly after his retirement from Occidental Petroleum, having retired from Occidental with 39 years of experience in midstream and chemicals operations and engineering assignments.

At Occidental Bill worked in project and process engineering roles, as well as in several plant manager assignments in Kansas and Texas at gas processing and natural gas liquids fractionation plants. Bill was the President of Occidental’s crude oil pipeline subsidiary, Centurion Pipeline, and General Manager of Occidental’s Midstream Operations business unit, which included the Centurion Pipeline operations and a new marine terminal at Ingleside, Texas.

Mr. Boyer holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, and is a registered Professional Engineer in both Oklahoma and Texas. Bill is also a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors.

Richard Spitzer

Senior Advisor

Diversified Industrials

Richard Spitzer is a Senior Advisor to Atar Capital, where he focuses on the Automotive, Industrials & Fin-Tech sectors. Richard is the Founder & Managing Partner of The Spitzer Group, a strategic advisory firm consulting on M&A, strategy with Fortune 100 companies and activist investor groups.

Currently, Richard is also a non-executive Partner at Elixirr LLP, based in London, as well as an Operating Partner and Advisor with the Westmont International Development, based in Houston; Auto Technology Partners, based in Austin; big data S-2-P firm PRGX, based in Atlanta. He also Senior Advisor of the car-sharing startup, TravelCar, based in Paris.

Previously, Richard spent 20+ years in Management Consulting, most recently serving as Managing Director & Head of the Global Automotive & Industrial practice at Accenture. In addition, Richard was a Senior Partner at A.T. Kearney and Booz-Allen-Hamilton.

During his management consulting career, Richard focused serving clients in the automotive, industrial and energy sectors, where he led large scale transformations for several global automotive OEMs and suppliers, integrated oil & gas multinational and consumer goods companies, covering geographies including the US, China, India, Japan, Korea, Germany, Italy, France, Brazil, Colombia, and sub-Saharan Africa.

Richard has moderated the World Economic Forum Automotive Roundtable in Beijing, China; was named to the “Top 25 Consultants” in Consulting Magazine in 2006.

He is also a published subject matter expert and contributor to the upcoming MIT Press book, “Faster, Smarter, Greener: The Automobile and Urban Society”, co-authored by Dr. Venkat Sumantran, Charles Fine, and David Gonsalvez. Richard has also contributed to a book published by Penwell entitled, “Creating the High Performance International Petroleum Company: Dinosaurs Can Fly”, by John E. Treat.

Mr. Spitzer holds a B.S., with Honors, in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mississippi and earned his MBA in Finance with Honors from Southern Methodist University.

Jeffrey Gray

Senior Advisor

Jeff Gray is a Senior Advisor to Atar Capital where he focuses on Diversified Industrials, including Paper, Packaging and Printing sectors.

Jeff has spent 27 years in senior roles at over 40 companies ranging in size from $3 million to $1.8 billion. Jeff has turned around companies with a history of over 20 years of operating losses, as well as companies who were left behind by rapidly changing events. Jeff’s collaborative approach builds winning cultures and releases the full potential of a company by tapping into the individual potential of each employee, partner and supplier.

Prior to Atar Capital, Jeff was a Managing Director at Revolution Capital Group, where he was responsible for portfolio company operations and financial results. Jeff led multiple successful transitions which resulted in exits at the Tampa Tribune and Maysteel Holdings.

Prior to his tenure with Revolution Capital Group, Jeff served as a Company President and Director of Integration for Taylor Corporation.

Jeff started his career in private equity with Platinum Equity, where he led over a dozen companies through the investment cycle from, acquisition to divestiture.

Jeff started his career at AMR Corp., the prior parent to American Airlines, where he held positions in corporate finance. Jeff’s division was sold to Platinum Equity.

Jeff holds a B.A. in Government and an MBA in Finance each from the University of Texas at Austin.

Ryan Craver

Ryan is a Senior Advisor to Atar Capital, where he focuses on the Retail, Consumer Goods and Branding sectors.

Ryan’s natural fascination with the intersection of retail and technology has led to a career of inspiring and leading brands to be on the forefront of the evolving “connected retail” environment.

Ryan currently leads Digital Sales & Operations for licensed brands, including New Balance, Skechers and Joe Fresh. Additionally, Ryan is the Founder and Chairman of Commerce Canal, a retail advisory firm driving $100 million in annual retails sales for some of the world’s largest brands in apparel, footwear, jewelry and industrial.

Prior to his tenure with Commerce Canal, Ryan was the President & CEO of Trimfit, Inc; Senior Vice President of Strategy at Hudson’s Bay Company; and held management consulting positions at both Alvarez & Marsal and at Accenture Strategy.

He holds double B.S. degrees in Marketing and Supply Chain Management from Arizona State University, and holds board and advisory positions with several retail/digital startup’s.

Manu Kaushish

Manu Kaushish is a Senior Advisor to Atar Capital where he focuses on the Technology, Telecom, Media and Business Services sectors.

Manu is a technology entrepreneur who has worked with startups and public companies to create, build and grow scalable Internet & Media businesses. His roles have included Management, Strategy, Product and Business Development. Manu has been a contributor to the technology sections of magazines and newspapers such as Dataquest, PC World and the Statesman in India. He has been interviewed/profiled in media such as Time Magazine, Variety, The Week, Star TV, Times of India and PC Quest. Manu is an angel investor and advisor to companies in the Cloud IoT, med-tech, wearables, food and beverage and fin-tech space.

Manu is currently CEO of Nirvana Digital, the largest YouTube Multi Channel Network for video content from the Indian sub-continent. He bootstrapped and grew the view base of the network to over 1.5 billion minutes of video served per month and created revenue streams from platforms including HULU, Roku, Amazon, Apple iTunes, Spotify and mobile operators.

Prior to Nirvana, Manu was a Senior Vice-President at Eros International and was responsible for driving Eros's technology and business to grow the digital monetization unit by creating new revenue streams from global distribution over Internet, Mobile, IPTV, Cable, Devices and other on demand channels. Manu created revenue streams from Comcast, Apple iTunes, Time Warner Cable and YouTube via models including VOD/SVOD/Ad Supported monetization. He built and managed the first and only Bollywood SVOD package on Cable MSO's in North America on Time Warner, Comcast, RCN, Cox and Century Link.

Manu is also the Founder of Divine Arts, one of the first aggregators and digital distributors of audio content from the Indian sub-continent. Divine Arts entered into a strategic partnership with Saregama India Limited (formerly HMV India) (NSE: SAREGAMA), to transcode, package and deliver a catalog of over 100,000 Indian music tracks to Real Networks (NASDAQ: RNWK), making Real Rhapsody the first Internet service to offer Indian music to a global audience. Divine Arts subsequently created a technology platform that distributed audio content for many of India's major studios to over 100 online and mobile channels such as Apple iTunes, Rhapsody, Yahoo Music and more.

In addition, Manu is the Founder of Satrang, where he developed a white labeled platform for the online grocer Namaste.com (a Kliener Perkins portfolio company) that offered Namaste's audience a fully integrated, plug and play component to send gifts online. Satrang expanded to manage over 25 gifting storefronts offering 1100 products on high traffic sites including HindustanTimes.com, 123India.com, Tehelka.com and more.

Earlier in his career, Manu held positions with E2open and Crowe Chizek (now Crowe Horwath). Manu graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from Michigan State University.
